1 tbsp raw honey per quart of water (or alternative sugar)
Fresh herbs: oregano, rosemary, thyme
1 clove minced garlic in water
Quality chick starter feed
Heat lamp / proper brooder setup

About Our Birds
We maintain a very small, closed flock and follow strict biosecurity protocols to ensure the health and well-being of our birds. All of our chickens are hand-raised and handled daily, resulting in friendly, well-socialized birds.
We are committed to a holistic approach to flock management. Our hens are fed a high-quality, non-GMO layer feed that contains no corn, soy, or wheat. They also receive a non-GMO six-grain scratch blend, and all chicks are started on a non-GMO 18% grower feed sourced from a local feed company.
In addition to their formulated feeds, our birds enjoy natural supplements including herbs, kelp, yogurt, grass-fed organ meats, and fresh grass to support overall health and vitality.

6 months ago I went through a horrible divorce resulting in the loss of my pet chickens (they were housed at my MILâs) I loved my birds endlessly. They were my happy place in this fast paced California life. I was so sad and depressed. I missed them every single day and missed hearing their precious chicken sounds. After a couple months, I decided I wanted to forge forward and start rebuilding. I had never ordered chicks or eggs online- Iâd been following BH for quite some time and was obsessed with their eggs and birds. I reached out to get some new babies. They were so patient with my traumatic story and all of my anxiety surrounding it. A few short weeks later, it was time for them to send my babies. I donât think Iâve been that nervous in a long time. I was so neurotic during the shipping days- I think Iâd have told myself to take a chill pill haha- yet- I got all the reassurance. All 11 of my new babies arrived to CA alive and healthy. 5 stars isnât enough! They deserve infinity
I received my Silveruddâs Blue day old chicks. They were packaged perfectly. You can tell they took time to secure all the chicksâ needs for their journey. They are all beautiful, healthy little puff balls! Iâve already placed my next order! 10/10
