Build a flock that will put every egg color in your carton. The quickest way to a colorful basket that your friends and neighbors will envy is to purchase our Fanciful Freckled Fourteen Dozen hatching eggs (previously known as our Rainbow Dozen).
Our Breeder's Choice selection offers a unique clutch of 14 hatching eggs, hand-selected to create the most colorful and charismatic layers for your egg basket. Every dozen is a complete mystery, a work of feathered art filled with a spectrum of colors, speckles, and textures, as if painted by nature herself. This isn't a factory-farm mix; it's a genuine "farm-fresh" collection with an extra two eggs included for good measure (12 + 2).
What to expect:
- A diverse palette of natural egg colors, including deep chocolates, olive greens, and shades of blue.
- Intriguing patterns, from delightful speckles and splotches to delicate blooms that appear as a chalky or silvery sheen.
- A captivating range of textures and color variations, ensuring every egg is a unique treasure.
Rather than focusing on labels, we focus on what makes these eggs so special: color, character, and variety. Expect a fun mix of shades ranging from rich chocolate and deep olive tones to warm browns, soft tinted eggs, and beautifully speckled shells.
Every clutch is a mystery mix, making each order a unique little collection of farm-raised genetics and natural variation. No two collections will be exactly alike, and that's part of the fun!
This is not a factory-produced assortment. These eggs come from our own carefully selected flock and are gathered, handled, and packed with the goal of giving you a colorful and enjoyable hatching experience.

A Little Note About Our Eggs
Because these are hatching eggs from a living, naturally varied flock, egg color and chick characteristics can vary from one clutch to the next. We do not guarantee a specific chick color, appearance, sex, egg color, or other outcome.
Our goal is simple: open the box, set your eggs, and enjoy the surprise of seeing what your rainbow flock produces!
This option is ideal for seasoned chicken keepers who appreciate the art of selective breeding and are seeking an exciting genetic project. The eggs change seasonally.
Our "Breeder's Choice" isn't just a colorful collection; it's a living snapshot of our evolving breeding program. We are constantly refining our crosses for unique color variations, heavy speckles, and brilliant new shades that can’t be found anywhere else. Because our hens change each season, the eggs in your dozen represent our freshest genetic work, giving you the chance to hatch something truly special.
Please note: The eggs you receive will not be identical to any in a photograph, as our flock is always changing. Your clutch is a unique, one-of-a-kind genetic offering that will set your flock apart.
*We do not take color requests and please do NOT ask for our "darkest" eggs whether it is the Marans or our Olive Eggs.
Shipping prices are changing faster than the drama on Facebook egg groups. Here’s how we handle it:
Shipping is calculated after purchase. Before anything goes out, I’ll reach out with a full lineup of carrier options, speeds, and prices—think of it like a menu, but instead of dinner, you’re choosing how fast your package gets to your door.
You pick what works best for you.
I personally prefer UPS over USPS or FedEx for the best overall experience.
If you choose USPS, your package will be marked “HOLD FOR PICKUP” and include the phone number you provided on your invoice.
This does NOT guarantee the Post Office will call you—you are responsible for contacting them and arranging pickup.
This is a curated egg buying experience—not a free-for-all, not a free-for-all with attitude, and definitely not a “click now, panic later” situation.
You are NOT getting the exact eggs pictured.
If you want current egg photos, head over to Instagram or Facebook—I post them daily.
Every dozen is hand-selected, but no two are identical. That’s part of the beauty of working with real, living genetics.
Quick note before you grab eggs:
This is not a paint swatch you can match at checkout. The majority of these are backcrosses and are covered by multiple roosters. That means variety is part of the package—and also part of the magic.
The egg color you receive is NOT the exact egg color that the hen will lay later on. She should lay darker olives or browns, but you’ve got to raise her first.
We’ve got some seriously impressive roosters working these pens, and they’re doing their job well.
Now—let’s talk expectations:
Egg color will naturally fade as the laying season progresses. That does NOT mean the genetics are gone.
This is a long game. Patience is part of the process.
If you’re here for instant perfection… grocery store eggs are that way.

Reviews
The eggs were delivered within two days and the box looked perfect with labels advising fragile load. They were well cushioned with foam inserts and foam on bottom and top in an interior box. It was packaged inside a larger box that was stuffed with packing paper. There was no way these eggs were going to be damaged! They were perfect and beautiful and they are resting right now. I will put them in the incubator in two days. Excited to see what may come! Thank you!!
I ordered a dozen rainbow eggs and also some backcross. Communication was amazing, the eggs arrived perfect. Had 17/28 hatch. Had at least 5 that developed but never pipped. It happens with darker eggs I know. So excited to watch these babies grow.
Great communication! Fast shipping using UPS. My eggs were received packaged very well. No eggs were damaged due to shipping. I had 9 Silverrudd’s hatch! Definitely a success! Thank you! I will definitely buy again!
I received 14 eggs on the June 25th and put them in the incubator that day. Pretty much left them alone until lockdown. Candled the eggs and 2 did not fully develop. I had a broody hen and placed the 12 eggs under the broody hen. 9 of the 12 hatched. 1 of the 3 that didn’t make had been smothered (it was a fully developed shell was crushed under hen) the other 2 just didn’t hatch(not sure why). I feel like this was amazing for being 2 day shipped eggs from SC to AR. Thank you so much for your quality of eggs and super excited to see what the girls eggs look like when they start laying.
Purchased 2 dozen in the fall of last year and picked them up late winter. I live across the mountain in TN so I was by fortunate to be able to not need to depend on the postal service. Even though I picked them up I received them well packaged in the foam egg shippers and I received a total of 28 beautiful eggs! I had not attempted to hatch very dark eggs before and I keep many hens that were bred to brood so I decided to put half under 2 different hens and half in the incubator to better my odds in case I had a failure from one method. I had and excellent hatch from the incubator and from one of my broody hens, one hen unfortunately didn’t get it done so well and I lost 5 potential babies near hatch time. They were also the pure BCM eggs 😢. So I ended up with 17 olive egger and back cross chicks. I lost one chick early on and I had more males than females but I have 7 beautiful pullets that should be laying soon! So excited to show off the eggs when they start coming!!
