THESE ARE LIMITED AVAILABILITY.
Shipped chicks are a risk. YOU are accepting all risk. Please read our Shipping Policy and Terms & Conditions here. Once they leave my hands they are out of my control. USPS has increased in price and decreased in service. If you are not ok with that risk, I highly suggest not purchasing. Straight Run Chicks:
Welsummer, Silverudd's and BackCross Olive Eggers are $20.00 each with a minimum of six (6) chicks for shipping. I can fit comfortably 15 to 16 chicks in a box. I try to send one extra depending on the hatch. You can add heat pack at check out. One to two packs should be sufficient depending on how cold it is where you are at. The heat packs get up to 100 degrees and last for 72 hours. Chicks like to be warm and 6 (six) chicks isn't a lot.
Straight Run Black Copper Marans: are $30.00 per chick. A minimum of six (6) chicks required.
You can mix and match to make a total of 15 to 16 chicks but no more. Over 16 would require another box and express shipping expense. There is an option to purchase a $30.00 box on Amazon that could fit up to 25 chicks but we would have to coordinate that. I do not keep them in stock.
Once you place the order, there are no refunds. You are committed to the chick order. They will ship within 30 days of purchase depending on the hatch rate. If the hatch rate is bust, we will discuss the next available ship date.
***Chicks are shipped via USPS Express Priority Mail. The shipping expense is an AFTER SALE purchase paid via Venmo. We will contact you right before they are ready to ship and collect USPS Express Shipping cost via Venmo. If you want additional insurance coverage we can add that too.
Once you get them home I highly recommend giving them some raw honey (about a Tablespoon to a quart of water), fresh oregano, rosemary and thyme leaves (1 sprig of each, pull the leaves off) and a clove of minced garlic, all added to their water. Really, any type of sugar would be fine, I prefer raw honey. Get them some good chick starter and a heat lamp.

Reviews
6 months ago I went through a horrible divorce resulting in the loss of my pet chickens (they were housed at my MIL’s) I loved my birds endlessly. They were my happy place in this fast paced California life. I was so sad and depressed. I missed them every single day and missed hearing their precious chicken sounds. After a couple months, I decided I wanted to forge forward and start rebuilding. I had never ordered chicks or eggs online- I’d been following BH for quite some time and was obsessed with their eggs and birds. I reached out to get some new babies. They were so patient with my traumatic story and all of my anxiety surrounding it. A few short weeks later, it was time for them to send my babies. I don’t think I’ve been that nervous in a long time. I was so neurotic during the shipping days- I think I’d have told myself to take a chill pill haha- yet- I got all the reassurance. All 11 of my new babies arrived to CA alive and healthy. 5 stars isn’t enough! They deserve infinity
