Straight Run Chicks:
Straight run means they are not sexed. We cannot and do not sex them. With Welsummer we take the entire hatch and total all the males and divide them equally amongst orders so that not one person is getting all males. The good news is that we have high female to male ratios in our Welsummer flock. Our Silverrudd's are O/O and O/o. Our rooster has been tested and is a carrier for the Homogzygous (O/O) blue gene. We do NOT have a fully homozygous flock at this time. We are working towards that but you will have to test them just as we do. I highly recommend Panhandle Poultry Labs for DNA and Homozygous testing.
Welsummer, Silverudd's and BackCross Olive Eggers are $20.00 each with a minimum of ten (10) chicks for shipping. I can fit comfortably 15 to 18 chicks in a box. It gets too tight after that and they get crushed. I try to send one extra depending on the hatch. I will add heat packs to the shipping cost, along with insurance. 3 heat packs should be sufficient depending on how cold it is where you are at. The heat packs get up to 100 degrees and last for 72 hours.
Straight Run Black Copper Marans: are $30.00 per chick.
You can mix and match to make a total of 15 to 16 chicks but no more. Over 16 would require another box and express shipping expense. There is an option to purchase a $30.00 box on Amazon that could fit up to 40 to 50 chicks but we would have to coordinate that. I do not keep them in stock.
Once you place the order, there are no refunds. You are committed to the chick order. If the hatch rate is bust, we will discuss the next available ship date.
***Chicks are shipped via USPS Express Priority Mail. The shipping expense is an AFTER SALE purchase paid via Venmo. We will contact you right before they are ready to ship and collect USPS Express Shipping cost via Venmo. If you want additional insurance coverage we can add that too.
Once you get them home I highly recommend giving them some raw honey (about a Tablespoon to a quart of water), fresh oregano, rosemary and thyme leaves (1 sprig of each, pull the leaves off) and a clove of minced garlic, all added to their water. Really, any type of sugar would be fine, I prefer raw honey. Get them some good chick starter and a heat lamp.

6 months ago I went through a horrible divorce resulting in the loss of my pet chickens (they were housed at my MIL’s) I loved my birds endlessly. All 11 of my new babies arrived to CA alive and healthy. 5 stars isn’t enough! They deserve infinity
I received my Silverudd’s Blue day old chicks. They were packaged perfectly. You can tell they took time to secure all the chicks’ needs for their journey. They are all beautiful, healthy little puff balls! I’ve already placed my next order! 10/10
