The Everlasting Gospel: Rediscovering God's Accomplished Work In Christ

The Reformers rightly proclaimed that sinners are justified by grace through faith apart from works. The Counter-Reformation objected that such a view appeared to make God declare guilty people righteous while they were still sinners, raising a profound question:
How can a just God do this without violating His own law?
This book argues that both sides largely began with the wrong question.
The apostles did not begin with justification.
They began with Christ.
Before Paul explains justification by faith, he first explains the representative work of Jesus Christ as the Second Adam. Before he tells us how salvation is received, he explains what God accomplished through the incarnation, the cross, the resurrection, and Christ's priesthood.
The question is not merely, How can God declare sinners righteous?
The deeper question is, How did Christ become the lawful Representative of humanity?
The Everlasting Gospel traces this biblical answer from Genesis to Revelation. It explores the incarnation, the biblical principle of corporate solidarity, the Second Adam, and Christ's eternal priesthood to show how God can legally save fallen humanity while remaining perfectly faithful to His own law.
Rather than treating salvation as a legal fiction, a transfer of merit, or a Celestial bookkeeping transaction, Scripture presents Christ as humanity's true Representative. By becoming one with the race He came to redeem, Jesus fulfilled the law on humanity's behalf, bore its judgment, entered death as our Representative, rose as the Head of a new humanity, and now ministers as our great High Priest.
From that foundation, justification by faith becomes beautifully clear. Faith does not create salvation. It receives what God has already accomplished in Christ. Repentance, confession, baptism, obedience, and holy living are not additions to Christ's finished work but the fruit of union with Him.
This study invites readers to reconsider familiar theological questions by returning to the apostles' own starting point. Instead of asking first what sinners must do to be saved, it asks how God, without compromising either His justice or His law, accomplished salvation through His Son.
